Really Rough Week...

Hi! It's me again!

It has been awhile since I have written...a lot has been going on. Here are some updates :)

* Jake was offered 2 jobs in one week (whoop, whoop!) so we had the opportunity to PICK what job he should work at. They were both part-time offers, but would be great transitional jobs while he kept looking. We decided on a position at The Village Ranch, and he called back to accept. The other position was at Catholic Charities, and Jake decided it wasn't a job that he was interested in after-all once he had learned more about it. Jake called to accept, and unfortunately we got some bad news...which brings me to my next point:

* The government decided to add a new requirement to the position (ugh) the MORNING Jake called back to accept the position--which was less than 24 hours after the offer. Unfortunately you now need 2,000 hours of experience working in a similar position and Jake was 700 or so hours short. We are really bummed. They offered him a different position but he would have to drive about an hour every day to work that one (in Cokato, shout out Jackie and Sara!) so we decided to decline. He also declined the Catholic Charities position since he was no longer interested in the position.

* Jake is currently pursing a full-time job that we are REALLY excited about. More info to come when we have it :) For now, he is going to apply somewhere that would be easy to quit since fun-employment isn't so fun anymore. I hope he applies somewhere with a sweet discount!

* I have officially decided to quit serving at Panino's. It was a hard decision since I have been there 6 years now, but it is wearing me down working that on top of my full-time job. Jake rubs my feet every Friday night after I finish serving (which is a nice perk) but I need more time to rest. I will miss everyone there!

* My family recently found out that my grandpa is now beginning a battle with cancer. It is scary to have cancer be something so personal and real, as I have never really experienced this before. Please pray for my grandpa to be humble and strong during this time. It is really hard for him to ask for help sometimes and I know this will be a really difficult season for him. Pray that if it is God's will, he would be completely healed. He is in stage 3 right now, so the prognosis looks grim, but I trust in God's saving power. Please also pray that my grandpa would come to know Jesus more through this time. Also pray for my family, especially my mom and uncles. My grandma passed away of a heart attack when she was in her 40's so this is really hard for the family to have no grandparents (or parents) left on my mom's side of the family. Oh, life.

* This blog has been rather sad, actually really sad, but I do have a bit of good news to wrap it up with. Jesus is still Lord, and we can trust that he has everything under control :) This video went out in our staff newsletter last week, and I really liked it. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUQYJ77qa50&feature=related.
